A 66-year-old woman named Elizabeth Uruakpa was kidnapped in Ilisan Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday. Uruakpa, who works as an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, was abducted while returning from a church service. The gunmen used an unregistered red Toyota Camry to block her Honda CRV and then drove off with her.
A local resident described the incident, saying, “She was coming back from church around 7:00 pm when the gunmen took her. I know her well; she’s a senior nurse at Babcock University and a member of Winners’ Chapel. They pulled her out of her car and drove away with her in their red Toyota. It’s shocking and unusual for our neighborhood.”
Dr. Joshua Suleiman, the Director of Communication and Marketing at Babcock University, confirmed the kidnapping but mentioned he didn’t have all the details yet. He said, “I heard about it last night; it’s mentioned in one of the university’s groups, but I don’t have comprehensive information yet. Someone is working to get more details, and I will update you as soon as possible.”
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed that the Command received a distress call about the abduction and assured that an investigation is ongoing.
