On September 3, 2024, President Bola Tinubu met with China’s President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. This meeting is part of President Tinubu’s official visit to China, where he is engaged in strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Upon arrival, President Tinubu, along with President Xi, inspected a guard of honour, marking the significance of the visit. The inspection of the guard is a customary practice symbolizing respect and the importance of the relationship between Nigeria and China.During his time in China, President Tinubu is also expected to attend the 2024 Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), a key event scheduled from September 4 to September 6. FOCAC is an important platform for dialogue and cooperation between China and African countries, focusing on enhancing mutual understanding, economic development, and strategic partnerships.
