In a tragic incident, the body of a newborn baby girl was found abandoned at a church in Nkpor, Anambra State. The lifeless baby, suspected to be just one day old, was discovered in the early hours of Monday, August 12, on the grounds of a church located at Engr Chukelu Street, Ububa South, Nkpor Agu.
A video shared online captured the heartbreaking scene. The baby was covered with dried plantain leaves, lying motionless on the church premises. In the video, a man who identified himself as the Chief Security Officer of the Nkpor community, appealed for information about the baby. He urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation.
The police were quickly informed of the incident, and officers from the Ogidi Police Division arrived at the scene to evacuate the baby’s body.
