Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated that by the end of President Tinubu’s tenure, Nigeria will undergo significant changes that will make it unrecognizable to many.

Speaking at the opening of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja, Akpabio expressed confidence that in seven years, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nigeria as a whole will be dramatically different. He urged people to keep praying and remain hopeful that current challenges will be resolved in the future.

Godswill Akpabio stated,

“I have no doubt that by the time the president is through with his tenure in the country, seven years from today, many people will not recognise FCT, they will not recognise Nigeria again. So, all I can say is: let us continue to pray for him and be hopeful that the challenges you see today, tomorrow, you will see them no more.”

Akpabio also praised President Tinubu for appointing Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the FCT. He commended Wike’s suitability for the role and lauded Tinubu’s ability to identify capable individuals. Akpabio highlighted the bus terminal project as a solution to traffic and security issues, comparing Tinubu’s impact on Lagos, which has become one of Africa’s leading city economies.

He said,

“So, I believe that you are a square peg in a square hole and I must thank the President for having the eyes to pinpoint those who can perform and bringing them,” Akpabio told the gathering, describing the project as a hub that will help traffic decongestion, and tackle insecurity among others. He did it in Lagos and today, Lagos is one of the best; one of the largest economies in Africa when we are talking about cities.”
