The housemaid of Nick Imudia, the former Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian e-commerce giant Konga, has shared details of the final conversation she had with him before news of his death was announced last week.

According to a close friend of the deceased, who spoke to Vanguard under the condition of anonymity, the maid, whose name has been withheld, said that Nick Imudia called her a day before his death. He handed her a piece of paper with five telephone numbers, including that of his brother in the United States of America. He instructed her to keep the numbers, saying she might need them at the appropriate time. Following this, he went into the bathroom, and she heard the shower running, indicating that he was taking a bath.

After some time had passed, the maid noticed that the shower was still running. She became concerned and knocked on the bathroom door, but there was no response. Thinking he might need privacy, she left the door.

A short while later, the private guard knocked on her door and asked her to come quickly. She rushed downstairs and found Nick in a terrible state. Panicking, she hurried back upstairs and found the shower still running. When she opened the bathroom door, she discovered that no one was inside.

Meanwhile, the family of Nick Imudia has requested the release of his body for burial. Over the weekend, the family issued a statement ruling out suicide as the cause of his death. They emphasized that Nick had never shown any signs of stress or depression at any point in his life.

The State Criminal Investigative Department, Yaba, Lagos, has taken over the investigation into the unfortunate incident, aiming to uncover the circumstances surrounding Nick Imudia’s death.
