Teen actress Angel Unigwe’s mother has initiated legal proceedings against veteran actor Kanayo O Kanayo, alleging that he breached a contract.

On June 21, 2024, Kanayo accused Angel on social media of failing to honor a contract they had signed for a production.

He also claimed that Angel’s mother, Juliet Kings Unigwe, is known for breaking contracts by prematurely removing her daughter from film sets before the agreed work is completed.

Kanayo further threatened to disrupt any future movie projects involving Angel, asserting his intent to prevent her participation in the industry.

Responding to these allegations, Juliet Kings Unigwe issued a statement on Angel’s Instagram page on Wednesday, refuting the claims as false and defamatory.

Juliet emphasized their commitment to honoring contracts, stating, “First, for the public record, we wish to state categorically that we hold sacred the terms of any contract we enter into and we are fully committed to performing all lawful obligations required of us under such contracts.”

She strongly denied Kanayo’s accusations, describing them as deeply hurtful and baseless. “We vehemently deny the false accusations and slanderous statements contained in Mr. Kanayo’s video. We want to assure the public that we have done no such thing and are deeply hurt by these unfounded allegations,” she added.

Juliet further revealed that they have taken legal action against Kanayo and called on security agencies to intervene and ensure Angel’s safety amidst the ongoing dispute.
