Residents of Imo State have been advised to ignore the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for Biafran Day, a day to honor those who died fighting for Biafra.
This message came from the Imo State Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma, through a statement by the Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye.
The Police Commissioner assured the public that they should go about their daily activities without fear, as the threat from IPOB and its armed group, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), is not credible.
Security forces, including the Police, Military, Civil Defense, Road Safety, Immigration, and Fire Service, have been deployed across the state to ensure safety.
He warned that anyone attempting to enforce the illegal sit-at-home order will face legal consequences.
Citizens are encouraged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police using the emergency numbers provided: 08034773600 or 08098880197.
May 30 is recognized by IPOB/MASSOB to remember those who died in the struggle for Biafra.
