They got caught in a police operation near United Bank for Africa (UBA), ESBS, Enugu State, after being watched for a while and having enough information to take action.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently apprehended two individuals, Nweke Daniel Kelechi and Iroude Chibuzor, suspected of involvement in a currency scheme totaling N850,000. The arrests were made by the EFCC’s Special Task Force in Enugu State following extensive surveillance around the United Bank for Africa (UBA), ESBS.
According to a statement released on May 27, the sting operation conducted on Sunday, May 26, initially led to the arrest of Chibuzor. However, further investigation revealed his alleged connection to Kelechi, who is said to have authorized the sale of counterfeit Naira notes.
