Air peace, Nigeria’s flag carrier, has warned the public against a fake website ‘defrauding’ travellers.
In a statement from its management on Tuesday, the airline said the creators used some of its brand collateral to design the fake website, presenting it as the company’s booking platform.
“Our attention has been drawn to a particular website “www.flyairpeace.uk” purporting to be an official Air Peace website and defrauding unsuspecting individuals,” Air Peace said.
“The creators used some of our brand collateral to design the fake website and presented it as our booking platform.
“We would like to dissociate the Air Peace brand from this fraudulent site because it is not owned by us.
“The one and only official website of Air Peace remains “www.flyairpeace.com.”
Air Peace urged the members of the public to “ignore the site as it is impersonating the airline and fleecing travellers”.
On March 30, the airline commenced its Lagos-London flight services.
The London trip comes a month after the Nigerian flag carrier said it would commence direct flight operations from Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London.
