Kwankwaso Confident of 2027 Election Victory, Declares PDP “Dead”

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and a former governor of Kano State, has declared that he will win the 2027 presidential election. Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, expressed his confidence during the inauguration of the NNPP Secretariat along IBB Way in Katsina.

The visit, which was initially to offer condolences to the Yar’Adua family following the passing of their matriarch, Hajiya Dada, turned into a significant political event as Kwankwaso spoke about his party’s preparations for the next general elections. He emphasized that the NNPP is determined to take over the presidency and secure other key positions across the country in 2027.

According to Kwankwaso, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), once a dominant political force, is no longer relevant. “The PDP is already dead,” he said, explaining that he and many others had once been members of the party but decided to leave due to its decline.

Kwankwaso used the opportunity to urge Nigerians, particularly women and youths, not to be swayed by small gifts such as spaghetti or cash during elections, a practice often associated with voter manipulation. He stressed that voters should focus on the bigger picture and support candidates with integrity.

He also encouraged the party’s leaders to remain committed to the NNPP’s success, calling for unity and dedication. Kwankwaso praised the efforts of party members in renovating the state secretariat, which he viewed as part of the party’s readiness for future elections.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Armaya’u Abdulkadir, the NNPP’s state Chairman, highlighted the party’s ongoing efforts to educate the public about its new logo, which symbolizes a focus on education for all. He emphasized the importance of grassroots outreach to spread awareness and engage voters on the party’s mission and values.

Kwankwaso’s confidence and strong rhetoric against the PDP signal his intention to push the NNPP to the forefront of Nigerian politics as the country looks ahead to 2027.
