In an unexpected turn in the 2024 presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, photos have surfaced showing distant relatives of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’s vice presidential pick, supporting Donald Trump.

The image, shared by former Nebraska Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster, shows eight people wearing “Nebraska Walz’s for Trump” T-shirts. According to Fox News, these individuals are related to Walz through his grandfather’s brother, Francis Walz.

One family member, who wished to remain anonymous, said they are backing Trump because “he supports our values.” They also clarified that they have never met or spoken with Tim Walz, considering themselves “distant” relatives.

Former President Donald Trump responded to the photo on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying he might meet with Jeff Walz, the Minnesota governor’s older brother.

Jeff Walz, who lives in Florida, shared his opposition to his brother’s political views on social media, writing, “I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology.” He also expressed disappointment that his family was not informed about Tim Walz being chosen as Kamala Harris’s running mate, finding out through the radio.

Despite being asked by Trump supporters to publicly endorse Trump, Jeff said he’s conflicted between doing so and keeping his family out of the political spotlight.
