Sowore Urges Nigerians to Protest Against Tinubu’s Government Immediately, Not Wait Until October

Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has urged Nigerians to take to the streets and protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration without waiting for the scheduled October 1, 2024 demonstration. Sowore contends that the current government is inflicting ongoing harm on the Nigerian people, making it necessary for citizens to act sooner.

In a recent post on X, Sowore emphasized, “IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please remember, there is no need to wait until October 1, 2024, for #FearlessInOctober. The Tinubu regime is continuously hurting the people of Nigeria. Nigerians can revolt at any time they choose! #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #RevolutionNow.”

Sowore had initially planned a new round of the EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, termed “FearlessInOctober,” for October 1st. This protest aims to provide Nigerians with a platform to express their frustrations over the country’s worsening economic conditions.

During the previous protests, President Tinubu had shown a willingness to negotiate with the organizers, signaling potential dialogue amidst the ongoing unrest.
