President Bola Tinubu has approved the release of an additional ₦4 billion to settle outstanding severance benefits owed to 600 former employees of the defunct Nigeria Airways.

The payment, described as the second tranche of the disbursement, covers beneficiaries in batches 10 and 11 and was made through the Federal Ministry of Finance.

The latest release follows an earlier disbursement of ₦18 billion in September 2026, which covered the entitlements of 2,700 former workers across the first nine batches.

The payments form part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to clear outstanding severance obligations owed to former employees of the defunct national carrier.

With the latest disbursement, the government continues its efforts to address the long-standing financial commitments to the airline’s former workforce.
