Gbenga Ogunbote, the technical adviser of Plateau United, has said his team felt the absence of their supporters even though they won their match.
Plateau United, also known as the Peace Boys, secured a strong 4-1 victory against Ikorodu City in their matchday 33 clash held at the Lafia City Stadium.
The team has been using the Lafia City Stadium as their home ground due to ongoing security challenges in Jos.
Ogunbote explained that while the team appreciated the support they received from fans in Lafia, it was not the same as playing in front of their regular supporters.
He added that the presence of their home fans, often called the “twelfth man,” was greatly missed during the game.
The coach also said he would have preferred the match to take place in Jos, where the team usually enjoys stronger backing from their supporters.
