Yusuf Buhari, the son of Nigeria’s late former president Muhammadu Buhari, has announced his plan to run for a political position in the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made public by former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad through a post on social media.

According to him, Yusuf decided to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency in Katsina State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress after holding discussions with key stakeholders.

.Ahmad explained that the decision came after wide consultations with party members and supporters, showing that Yusuf had taken time to prepare before declaring his ambition.
