Gbenga Daniel @70: Pastor Adeboye preaches accountability to Nigerians

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, head of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has called on Nigerians, including political leaders, to lead accountable lives, reminding them that life is a journey with an inevitable end.

He stressed the need to maintain a strong relationship with God, noting that everyone will eventually return to their Creator to give an account of their actions.

Adeboye made these remarks on Monday during the 70th birthday thanksgiving service of former Ogun State governor and current senator for Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The service was held at Abraham’s Tabernacle in Sagamu, where Pastor Adeboye praised Daniel for being an outstanding governor who fulfilled all his promises.

He said, “I have lived in Ogun State since 1983 and have seen many governors, but Daniel stands out. He kept every promise he made. If you want to see an original Omoluabi, you find it in him. People like him are rare. I respect you, OGD. The RCCG holds you in high esteem. You started well and will finish well.”

Pastor Adeboye added, “God measures our lives by the days we live, not just the years. Anyone who does not fear God is unwise. Wisdom is using knowledge correctly. From birth, we are on a journey that will eventually end. At that end, we must account for our lives. Every religion teaches this, and even our ancestors spoke of it. The timing of our journey’s end is unknown, but accountability is unavoidable. Do you know the path?”

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State also praised Daniel, describing him as a leader whose life demonstrates service, excellence, and dedication to national development.
