Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has publicly apologised after reacting angrily to being left out of the nominees for the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
The actress had earlier expressed frustration on social media when the nomination list was released without her name. Her reaction quickly drew attention online, especially after she praised her role in “To Kill A Monkey” and suggested her performance deserved recognition.
A few days later, Lilian returned online with a calmer tone, admitting that her reaction was wrong. She said her comments were disrespectful to the award organisers, the nominees, her colleagues, and fans who have supported her over the years.
She explained that her outburst came from disappointment and feeling overlooked, especially since she believed the project marked a big moment in her career. However, she acknowledged that her emotions got the better of her and took full responsibility for her actions.
Lilian ended her message by asking for another chance, promising to do better going forward and not repeat such behaviour.
