The Delta State Police Command has deployed officers and implemented security measures to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration.
Superintendent of Police Bright Edafe confirmed the deployment to journalists in Warri, saying personnel are stationed at churches, event centers, highways, parks, and other public areas, while tactical and patrol teams are ready to respond to any security issues.
State Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi instructed commanders to increase visibility, carry out intelligence-led operations, and maintain alertness.
Officers were also told to work closely with religious leaders and remain professional and respectful to the public. Residents were urged to stay vigilant, report suspicious activity via the control room at 08036684974, and parents were advised to watch over their children.
The Commissioner wished all Christians a safe and peaceful Easter and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
