Nigerian Polygamist Sets Goal of Marrying 21 Wives, Takes Another Bride

In a recent Facebook post, John-Paul Ugwu, a self-proclaimed polygamist from Nigeria, proudly announced that he has taken a new wife. Ugwu, who now goes by the title “High Chief Azu Anuka 1 of Enugu State,” has set an ambitious goal for himself—he plans to marry a total of 21 wives.

Ugwu expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Women are so plentiful that I will keep marrying more. 21 is my target. I just married another wife today. Congratulations to me!”

He shared that news of his latest marriage has been a hot topic in his village, with people coming in and out since morning to confirm the arrival of his new wife. Ugwu’s announcement also drew attention from his supporters, who traveled from different parts of the country to witness the union.

Taking a swipe at monogamy, Ugwu mentioned that his actions have caused quite a stir among those who believe in having just one spouse. He humorously referred to the situation as “katakata” (chaos) in the land of monogamy.
