The administration of Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against Harvard University, accusing the school of failing to protect Jewish and Israeli students on campus.
The case, filed by the US Department of Justice in a Boston federal court, alleges that the university ignored harassment and failed to enforce its own policies.
According to the complaint, this alleged negligence created an environment where affected students felt excluded and denied equal access to education.
The government is seeking to recover billions of dollars in taxpayer funds, marking a major escalation in tensions between federal authorities and the institution.
This legal action comes shortly after earlier attempts to reach a financial settlement reportedly worth up to $1 billion.
It also follows a separate case accusing Harvard of not fully cooperating with a federal probe into its admissions policies, especially regarding race considerations.
