Pedro Sánchez has described the ongoing conflict involving Israel and the United States in Iran as illegal, raising concerns over its global impact.

Speaking ahead of a European Union summit in Brussels, Sánchez said the war is causing serious harm to civilians and worsening humanitarian conditions.

He noted that the conflict is also leading to increased displacement and economic instability, especially affecting developing nations around the world.

The Spanish leader urged members of the European Union to stay united and push for a diplomatic solution instead of continued military action.

Sánchez also recalled Spain’s earlier stance when it refused to grant access to its military bases for operations linked to the conflict, despite pressure from Donald Trump.

In addition, he called for reforms within the United Nations, including removing veto powers in the Security Council to improve fairness and global representation.
