Eid-el-Fitr: Kano Censorship Board warns against indecent posters, dressing, mixing of males, females

The Kano State Censorship Board has warned commercial tricycle operators against displaying indecent pictures or writings on their vehicles during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. The Board said violators would face prosecution.

The warning aims to ensure that Sallah festivities are conducted in an orderly and morally acceptable manner across Kano State.

The Board also plans to monitor recreational centres to prevent indecent dressing among youths and improper mixing of males and females during the celebrations.

Three monitoring committees have been set up to oversee activities during the festive period, led by the Director of Film Production and Development, Usman Dankwano.

Organisers of Sallah shows, musical events, or open entertainment without official approval from the Board will be sanctioned under the law.

The Kano Censorship Board emphasized its commitment to ensuring that all festive activities comply with cultural and moral standards in the state.
