Ethiopian Airlines is set to resume direct passenger flights between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Atlanta, USA, starting May 21, 2026. The route had been temporarily suspended since February 2026.
The resumption reconnects Addis Ababa Bole International Airport with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, offering travelers seamless access between Africa and the United States.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew, said Atlanta is a key market, serving business travelers, tourists, and the African diaspora. He described the route as vital for growing demand.
The service will provide convenient connections to cities across the southeastern US and onward destinations throughout Africa via Addis Ababa.
Atlanta is one of the largest cultural and economic hubs in the United States and hosts a significant African diaspora community, making the route strategically important.
Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its transatlantic network, strengthening ties between Africa and the United States while supporting the airline’s long-term growth strategy.
