Ramadan: Saudi Arabia declares Friday Eid al-Fitr

Saudi Arabia’s authorities have announced that Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, will be observed on Friday. The declaration comes after the sighting of the new moon confirmed the conclusion of the holy month.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs stated that Muslims across the kingdom should prepare for prayers, celebrations, and traditional festivities. Citizens and residents are encouraged to observe the holiday with family and friends.

Mosques and open prayer grounds will host special Eid prayers in the morning. Government offices, banks, and many businesses will close to allow people to participate in celebrations.

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated with communal prayers, charity, and sharing meals with loved ones. It is a time to give Zakat al-Fitr, a charitable contribution, to support those in need.

The Saudi government also reminded people to follow safety guidelines, especially in crowded areas and public gatherings, to ensure a peaceful celebration.

Muslims worldwide are expected to celebrate Eid soon, as different countries may announce dates depending on local moon sightings.
