A senior Iranian official, Ali Larijani, has been killed in an airstrike shortly after issuing a strong warning to Donald Trump. Reports say the strike happened on March 16 and targeted key figures within Iran’s leadership structure.
According to Iran’s Defence Ministry, the strike was carried out by Israeli forces. The Israeli military also confirmed that Larijani was a target, along with other senior figures linked to Iran’s security operations.
In a separate development, General Gholam Reza Soleimani, who led the Basij paramilitary force, was also reported killed in another strike. The group has been involved in maintaining internal security and responding to protests within Iran.
Larijani had recently made strong remarks against the United States, warning of consequences over rising tensions. His death marks another major development in the ongoing conflict, raising concerns about further escalation in the region.
