Former France striker Thierry Henry has said that “a lot of people” do not want Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season. With seven games remaining, Mikel Arteta’s side leads Manchester City by nine points.

Henry, speaking on Monday Night Football, suggested that Arsenal lacks the popular support enjoyed by some other teams. He reflected on his own preferences, noting he rooted for Liverpool in past seasons to support underdog players like Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.

He explained that many fans tend to support the underdog or teams that have struggled historically, which contrasts with Arsenal, a club now close to ending a 22-year title drought.

Despite the lack of wider support, Henry acknowledged Arsenal’s strong position in the league and the likelihood of them clinching the championship if they maintain form in the remaining matches.
