Brazilian football star Neymar has been left out of Brazil’s squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 warm-up matches. The team will face France on March 26 in Boston and Croatia on March 31 in Orlando ahead of the tournament in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
Coach Ancelotti explained that Neymar was not called up because he is not at 100% fitness, following muscle fatigue that kept him out of a recent Santos FC match. “Neymar can be at the World Cup if he’s fully fit,” Ancelotti said.
Neymar, speaking at a Kings League event in Sao Paulo, expressed disappointment but affirmed his focus on training and preparing for the World Cup. “The dream continues,” he said, vowing to remain committed to his recovery.
The announced Brazil squad includes goalkeepers Alisson, Bento, and Ederson; defenders Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Alex Sandro; midfielders Casemiro, Fabinho, and Andrey Santos; and forwards Vinicius Jr., Raphinha, Gabriel Martinelli, and Endrick.
