The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated its newly elected State Working Committee (SWC) in Ebonyi State, led by Hon. Chukwuma Igwe as chairman and Hon. Henry Ngonu as secretary. The elections were conducted at the PDP Secretariat, Abakaliki, with a large turnout of party members.
The congress was monitored by INEC, and security operatives ensured a peaceful process. The seven-man Congress Committee, chaired by Barr Ukpai Ukairo, said the election followed a consensus approach to promote unity and reduce disputes among members.
Southeast National Vice Chairman Hon. Chidiebere Goodluck Egwu congratulated the new executive and urged them to engage party leaders and stakeholders, ensuring inclusivity while rebuilding the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Newly elected members include Chief Chris Elechi Ngwuta (Deputy Chairman), Prince Kigsley Igwe (Treasurer), Barr Okohue Nkaa (Legal Adviser), Okoro Chukwudi Goodluck (Organising Secretary), and Mrs. Chinyere Nwele (Women Leader), among others, all tasked with revitalizing party activities in Ebonyi State.
