Dr. Segun Musa, Chief Consultant at Global Transport Policy, has warned that Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) will fail without proper infrastructure. He described the system as a shell that merely houses agencies and does not automatically improve cargo clearance.
According to Musa, simply bringing agencies together under NSW is not enough. For meaningful efficiency, the agencies must be well-equipped with infrastructure and knowledge to drive operations effectively.
He emphasized that the Single Window only enables faster interactions, but without viable components inside, the system cannot deliver results. The agencies within the framework are critical for its success.
Musa concluded that a functional NSW requires a holistic approach, ensuring all involved agencies have the tools and capacity to manage integrated operations efficiently. Without this, the initiative will likely be frustrated.
