You stole my star from me, my mother d!ed because of you – Singer, Crayon takes a swipe at Don Jazzy and Marvin Records

Nigerian singer Crayon has sparked speculation about a possible exit from Mavin Records following a series of controversial posts on X late Sunday night, March 15, in which he criticized the label’s leadership.

The 28-year-old artiste, born Charles Chibueze Chukwu, began with a mix of praise and aggression while referencing Mavin founder Don Jazzy and the label’s chief operating officer, Tega Oghenejobo.

“Don Jazzy na my boy!!!!!! Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333,” Crayon wrote, before directing a harsher remark at the COO, posting: “Tega highest criminal!!!!!!!!!”

In another post, the singer alleged that he lost his mother due to the label, although he did not provide further details to support the claim.

Crayon, who was signed to Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint of Mavin Records, in May 2019, later declared that “Mavin is going down!!!!!!”

He also appeared to take aim at the label’s biggest star, Rema, stating that the singer would not receive a feature from him “for the next 100 years” and accusing him of taking his “shine.”

It remains unclear whether Crayon’s X account was compromised, as the singer has continued posting on Instagram without indicating that the account was hacked.

The posts have further fueled speculation about a potential split from the label after Crayon shared details suggesting the emergence of a new record label.

Checks show that his recently released single “Baami” is currently listed under the Olodum Entertainment imprint and does not carry visible branding from Mavin Records.
