Osun 2026: APC rejects Gov Adeleke’s rigging allegations

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has dismissed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s allegations that the party plans to use federal influence to manipulate the August 15, 2026, governorship election. APC’s Director of Media, Kola Olabisi, described the claims as baseless and aimed at preparing the ground for defeat.

Olabisi said the party is focused on legitimate political mobilisation and strategic planning to secure victory, insisting it has no intention of influencing the electoral process unlawfully. He highlighted defections of prominent figures like Shuaib Oyedokun and Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi as evidence of growing support.

The APC spokesman further pointed out that their candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), is gaining traction across communities and is a serious contender capable of winning without resorting to fraud. The party emphasized that political developments reflect shifting alignments ahead of the election.

Governor Adeleke continued to urge vigilance, warning against attempts to intimidate voters. He called on residents to defend electoral integrity, stressing that “federal might is for good governance, not election rigging” and that only the people’s votes should decide the state leadership.
