Semi Ajayi has expressed happiness after returning to action for Hull City following a long injury break. The defender suffered a hamstring injury during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations which kept him out of action for about two months.
The Nigerian international had earlier missed nearly three months of the season due to the same injury problem. After recovering, Ajayi has now featured in three matches for Hull City this month as he gradually regains full fitness.
One of his recent appearances came in the team’s defeat against his former club West Bromwich Albion last weekend. Despite the loss, the centre-back said he feels stronger and is improving with each game he plays.
Ajayi stated that he is now focused on helping Hull City fight for a playoff spot in the EFL Championship. The experienced defender joined the club on a free transfer last summer and hopes to play an important role for the team this season.
