Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has strongly condemned the recent attack by armed herdsmen on farmers in Akpete/Asaba community, Ojantele Ward of Apa LGA. The tragic ambush on locals harvesting cashew seeds left several dead, six missing, and a young girl abducted.
Describing the incident as a terrorist act, Alia expressed deep sorrow and criticized the attack on hardworking citizens pursuing their livelihood. He assured that such brutality against innocent farmers is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
The Governor directed security agencies to intensify operations, rescue the abducted girl, locate the missing, and bring the perpetrators to justice. He pledged full support for affected communities and families during this difficult period.
Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Benue State. He urged residents not to lose hope, emphasizing that efforts are ongoing to ensure all citizens can safely return to their farms.
