Nigerian govt warns content creators against unauthorised filming

The Nigerian government has issued a warning to content creators about filming in certain locations without proper permission. Authorities said recording videos in restricted areas without approval could lead to legal consequences.

Officials explained that the directive is aimed at protecting public safety, government facilities and sensitive locations across the country. They stressed that creators must seek official clearance before shooting videos in such places.

The warning comes as the number of social media influencers and online creators continues to rise in Nigeria. Many young people now produce content for platforms like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.

Government representatives advised creators to follow existing laws and guidelines while producing their content. They added that responsible content creation will help protect both the creators and the public.
