A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Buba Galadima, has sparked debate after suggesting that United Kingdom should return to colonize Nigeria. He made the statement during a discussion about the country’s governance challenges.
Speaking on Africa Independent Television (AIT), Galadima said Nigeria’s leaders must focus on protecting citizens and creating an environment where people can thrive. He criticized the government for what he described as poor leadership and lack of accountability.
According to him, if authorities cannot restore order, they should consider bringing in foreign mercenaries to help tackle insecurity. He added that external intervention could help enforce the rule of law and strengthen democratic values.
Galadima further argued that British involvement could help address corruption and improve governance. His remarks have generated mixed reactions, with many Nigerians debating the implications of such a suggestion.
