Hezbollah declares new military campaign after Israeli strikes

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has announced a new military campaign against Israel following heavy Israeli airstrikes on Beirut. The group said the operation, named “Eaten Straw,” was launched in response to what it described as repeated attacks on Lebanese territory.

Shortly after the announcement, Hezbollah fired a large number of rockets toward northern Israel. Israeli media reported that more than 100 rockets were launched, making it one of the biggest barrages since the latest escalation began.

According to Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency service, at least two people suffered minor injuries during the attacks. Air raid sirens sounded across several northern Israeli towns as residents rushed to shelters for safety.

Following the rocket barrage, Israeli fighter jets reportedly carried out several airstrikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The Israeli military said the strikes targeted Hezbollah positions in the Dahiyeh area, increasing fears that the conflict could further escalate in the region.
