The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed support for the party’s upcoming state congresses and national convention. BoT Chairman Mao Ohuabunwa said the congresses scheduled for the weekend will help strengthen the party’s structures across the country.
Ohuabunwa, who is considered an ally of Nyesom Wike, noted that the internal exercise is important for improving democracy within the party. According to him, the congresses are not just routine activities but part of efforts to rebuild and reposition the PDP.
He also confirmed that preparations are ongoing for the party’s National Convention slated for March 29 and 30. The event, he explained, will give party leaders another opportunity to unite members and reaffirm their commitment to democratic values and national service.
The BoT chairman further encouraged members to participate in the party’s electronic membership registration. He said the initiative would improve transparency, strengthen the party’s database, and help the PDP become more organized ahead of future political activities.
