Iraq refuses to allow attack on Iran from its territory

Iraq has declared that it will not permit its territory to be used for military attacks against Iran. The statement was made by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani during a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Al-Sudani criticized the ongoing war involving Iran, describing it as unfair and harmful to regional stability. He also expressed condolences over the death of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office, Baghdad made it clear that any military strike launched from Iraqi territory against Iran would violate the country’s sovereignty.

The conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States has now entered its tenth day, with casualties reported on different sides. Iraq has urged restraint and emphasized the need to avoid actions that could further escalate tensions in the Middle East.
