Gov Alia seeks collaboration with North-Central Development Commission

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, has called for stronger collaboration between the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) and his government to tackle insecurity and resettle people in IDP camps. He made the call while hosting the NCDC board in Makurdi.

Governor Alia highlighted the progress made in reducing local insecurity but noted that security challenges persist in some areas, describing them as “like a monster” that resurfaces if not fully addressed.

He also emphasized the need for support in agriculture, employment, and rural infrastructure, noting that long-neglected areas require collaborative efforts to see meaningful development.

Alia urged the NCDC to remain apolitical, stressing that introducing politics into the commission could undermine its core mission of fostering development and peace in the region.
