Peter Mbah has urged Ndigbo to return to strategic politics so the South East can regain influence in national decision-making. The governor said the region must avoid political isolation and instead build alliances that will place it at the centre of Nigeria’s political structure.
Mbah made the statement while receiving members of the City Boy Movement at the Government House in Enugu. He noted that past Igbo leaders were known for pragmatic political strategies and cooperation with other regions when necessary.
According to the governor, the South East has recently experienced political fragmentation, which has weakened its voice in national affairs. He stressed that the region must unite and adopt realistic political strategies to regain relevance.
Mbah also expressed support for the policies of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration’s reforms could strengthen the economy despite initial challenges. He added that aligning strategically with national leadership could help the region benefit more from federal development programmes.
