Super Eagles deny Chelle’s rumoured agreement with Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca

The Super Eagles have denied claims that their coach, Éric Chelle, is close to signing with Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca. Reports from Morocco’s Le7TV suggested Chelle would replace Amine Benhachem.

Promise Efoghe dismissed the report as false, insisting Chelle remains committed to the Nigerian team. The NFF confirmed there is no agreement with Wydad Casablanca.

Chelle, 48, has been linked to several top African and European clubs following Nigeria’s third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Despite speculations, he continues to focus on the Super Eagles.

The Malian coach’s current contract with the Nigeria Football Federation runs until January 2027, ensuring his stay with the national team for the foreseeable future.
