Pop superstar Rihanna’s residence in Los Angeles was struck by gunfire on Sunday after a woman allegedly opened fire on the property while the singer was reportedly inside, according to U.S. media reports.
The shooting occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. local time (2000 GMT), when the suspect fired about 10 rounds from a vehicle parked across the street from the mansion in the Beverly Hills area, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing police sources.
At least one of the bullets reportedly penetrated a wall of the residence, where Rihanna lives with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their children, local broadcaster KTLA said. The singer was believed to have been inside the home at the time of the incident.
Authorities said the suspect, a woman believed to be in her 30s, fled the scene shortly after the shooting but was later arrested without incident. Police also confirmed that a weapon was recovered during the arrest.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and have not yet determined a motive. Rihanna has not publicly commented on the shooting as of the time of this report.
