Google gives CEO new pay deal worth up to $692 million

The Chief Executive Officer of Google and its parent company Alphabet Inc., Sundar Pichai, could earn up to $692 million under a new compensation plan. The package was disclosed in a filing released by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to the document, Pichai’s base salary will remain at $2 million per year, totaling $6 million over three years. Most of the compensation will come from company shares and performance-based stock awards.

The package also includes shares in Alphabet’s subsidiaries such as Waymo and Wing, which could contribute significant value depending on their performance.

Alphabet stated that Pichai’s incentive structure has benefited the company and its shareholders. However, the filing noted that if he is dismissed, any stock options that have not yet matured would be forfeited.
