A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the remand of UK-based Nigerian blogger Maureen Badejo at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre over alleged cyberstalking and defamation. The order was issued by Akintayo Aluko after the blogger was arraigned on a four-count charge filed by the Nigeria Police Force.

According to prosecutors, Badejo allegedly published several podcasts on her GIO TV Media platform through Facebook containing statements about Ajose Sola, a pastor with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Igando, Lagos. Authorities claim the statements contained false accusations and were widely shared online.

The police alleged that some of the podcasts claimed the cleric engaged in ritual practices, diabolical activities, and other misconduct. Another publication reportedly accused the pastor of having an inappropriate relationship with the wife of a minister from the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The prosecution said the alleged actions violate provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act. Justice Aluko ordered that Badejo remain in custody while the case continues, and adjourned the matter until March 16, 2026, for further hearing.
