Israeli President Isaac Herzog has said Israel did not pressure the United States to join the conflict with Iran. He explained that Israel does not dictate decisions to former US President Donald Trump or force America into war.
Herzog said the US decision to take military action was based on its own strategic judgment. According to him, Washington made the move after assessing the situation and determining what it believed was necessary.
The Israeli leader noted that while Israel is a close ally of the United States, each country makes its own independent choices. He stressed that the military actions were not directed by Israel but by US leadership after careful consideration.
Herzog also acknowledged that the conflict is controversial in the US, but said many people may not fully understand the complexities of the situation. He described the ongoing conflict as a unique war shaped by long-standing regional tensions.
