Public affairs commentator Mahdi Shehu mocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following political developments around Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal. On his verified X handle, Shehu used sarcasm to highlight the shifting political realities, writing, “DAUDA LAWAL DARE: PRAYERS ANSWERED?”
He employed religious metaphors, adding, “He knocked and the door was wide opened. He sought and asked and was granted all that is feasible and possible,” suggesting no room remains for delay or theatrics in the political scene.
Shehu further stated, “No more leg dragging. No more knee jacking. No more grand standing. No more swearing. No more prayers. Survival instinct is the only visible human reality,” while mocking PDP and ADC and referencing former President Olusegun Obasanjo as “on limbo.”
Governor Dauda Lawal had earlier linked his next political move to the Court of Appeal judgment on PDP’s leadership crisis, which would determine the legality of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki’s leadership and the validity of the party’s Ibadan convention.
