US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s attempt to reopen negotiations, saying it is now too late. His remarks came as the US and Israel intensified strikes on Iranian military and government targets.
Iran responded with hundreds of missile and drone attacks across Israel and the Gulf, hitting US bases, embassies, and civilian sites. Casualties in Iran have reportedly reached 787, with thousands injured.
The strikes have caused massive destruction to oil facilities, airports, hotels, and other infrastructure, raising global energy prices and threatening the world economy. Trump emphasized that Iran’s air defenses, navy, and leadership have been largely neutralized.
Speaking at the White House with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Trump reiterated, “Just about everything has been knocked out,” warning that Tehran’s window for diplomacy has closed.
