US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said tougher American military strikes on Iran are coming as tensions escalate across the Middle East. Speaking on Capitol Hill, he stated that the “hardest hits” are still ahead.
Rubio explained that Washington acted due to what it described as an imminent threat, warning that Iran could soon develop enough missiles and drones to pose a serious global risk. He said the operation would continue “as long as it takes.”
The US maintains that Iran will not be allowed to possess advanced ballistic missiles and drone capabilities. Rubio added that preventing this outcome is a key objective of the ongoing campaign.
Meanwhile, China criticized the strikes as a violation of international law and called for an immediate end to hostilities. Russia has also engaged regional leaders in talks as fears grow over wider instability.
