Iran denies fresh push for nuclear talks with US

Iran has rejected reports claiming it is making a new effort to restart nuclear talks with the United States. Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, said American media reports suggesting he reached out through mediators were not true. He clearly stated on social media that Iran will not negotiate with Washington.

The denial followed a report that Iran had contacted the US through Omani mediators after the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. However, Iranian officials insist no fresh proposal has been made. Recent indirect talks in Geneva reportedly ended without any agreement.

During the discussions, Iran maintained it would continue enriching uranium and refused suggestions to move its stockpile abroad. Tehran also demanded the removal of international sanctions, showing it was not ready to accept conditions set by President Donald Trump.

As tensions grow, Larijani accused Trump of increasing instability in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the US military has confirmed casualties since the conflict began, raising concerns about further escalation in the region.
