Governor Nasir Idris has announced that more than one million residents of Kebbi State will benefit from free grains and farm inputs during Ramadan. He made the disclosure at an Iftar gathering held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, where he hosted political appointees and stakeholders.
According to the governor, items for distribution include rice, maize, millet, fertilisers, herbicides, power tillers, solar pumps, and CNG water pumps. The exercise is set to begin immediately and targets both food relief and improved farming activities across the state.
Idris explained that each beneficiary will receive at least one item, stressing that the programme is designed to ease hardship during Ramadan while boosting dry and wet season farming. He said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
The governor also directed the payment of outstanding furniture allowances to affected advisers and board chairmen. He assured residents that his government will continue inclusive development efforts to ensure no community is left behind.
